Hello! We’ve heard a number of parents complain about the challenges of hosting birthday parties:
- not enough room in their own space
- worried about wear and tear
- unable to locate places with indoor/outdoor accommodation
- only finding places far away
- terrified of cleaning up after said event
The home that hosts Mud Pies Preschool is largely empty on weekends. It is set up incredible well for playing indoors and outdoors. It’s a convenient location. Given this background, we have cooked up an idea to allow families in our community to host birthday parties in our space. Here’s a draft look at what that would entail:
BASELINE OFFERING
- Two (2) hours of availability (imagine 9:30-11:30am, or an afternoon), with 15 minutes on either side to set up / break down, for a suggested donation of $250.
- Access to the main level (living room play areas, kitchen, bathroom) and front play area (sandbox, play structure, slides, bikes, etc)
- Use of simple outdoor 8’x8′ popup tent
- Use of music speaker(s)
- One person on site to address any issues or concerns; said person will *not* be providing childcare or entertainment
- Up to 50 people allowed
- Connections to local suppliers such as Hammer and Jacks (high quality gift store with balloons at Foster and 64th), Fat Cupcake (cupcake shop at Woodstock and 87th), Laughing Planet (a variety of delicious and nutritious catering options), etc.
BONUS OFFERINGS WE’RE MULLING OVER; TO BE DISCUSSED
- Dishware / Cutlery (TBD; considering a big reusable set we could put in the dishwasher)
- Access to the Back Side
- Other options that would add value, such as a retired japanese firetruck parked in the driveway (wee ooo, wee ooo!)
